  • Do you choose the wineries / venues or do we? The process is; we send you an information welcome email which has a comprehensive list of the wineries and other stopover options. Many guests have particular venues or wine styles they prefer. We tailer make the ‘flexible’ itinerary based on the guests wishes, suggesting venues that offer the best experience for the day.
  • Can we include a distillery or craft brewery? Yes, often our guests ask for distilleries and/or craft breweries to be included into the ‘flexible’ itinerary.
  • Are tasting fees included? Whilst there are still a small number of wineries that will waive or redeem their tasting fees with a wine purchase the industry has broadly implemented tasting fees. These range from $10pp up, averaging $15 and up to $50 for super premium wine ranges and winemaker hosted experiences. The costs today of running and staffing Cellar Doors has made it necessary for the introduction of tasting fees. As Best Wine Tours offer a totally ‘flexible’ tour itinerary it is impossible to include these charges as the venue selected may or may not charge tasting fess. Each venue has a different formula or policy in regard to tasting fees. Some guests may wish to sample vintage or premium wines which are not budget priced items. We strongly suggest you budget to purchase some wines, and/or budget to pay fees on the day.
  • Is it better to have accommodation in Adelaide CBD or in the chosen wine region? We believe it’s better to have your accommodation in Adelaide CBD. Although the thought of staying in the wine region sounds attractive, most wine region venues operate lunchtime activities only. Staying in Adelaide CBD offers so much more variety to maximise your holiday time.
